Castor oil has medical and therapeutic benefits due to its anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties and unsaturated fatty acids.
Castor oil looks similar to olive and vegetable oil. It comes from the ricinus communis plant.
This oil is mostly used for cosmetic purposes due to its vitamin E, proteins, minerals and nutrients content. It’s almost never used in food since it doesn’t taste good. It is best to use pure, cold pressed and unrefined castor oil.
Moisturizes dry skin
If you suffer from dry skin and dermatitis, the fatty acids in the castor oil will penetrate the skin leaving it hydrated and moisturized. To get best results apply a thick layer of this oil directly to your skin. It will absorb quickly and it will leave the skin hydrated.
Acts as safe, natural laxative
Put 1-2 tbsp of castor oil in orange juice to get a natural laxative. It should take 2-5 hours to start working. It is efficient because it affects the small intestine.
Boosts hair growth
Using castor oil on your hair will balance the scalp’s pH level, reduce the risk of dandruff, split ends and hair breakage due to its ricinoleic acid. It will leave your hair thick beautiful, shiny and lustrous.
All you have to do is apply it to your scalp, roots and hair and massage it and leave it over night, than wash it in the morning. If you have oily hair you must mix it with coconut or almond oil.

To prevent stretch marks during pregnancy, mix 1tbsp castor oil and 2 tbsp almond oil and apply it to the affected area. If you want to fade them, rub castor oil to the area for 10min every day and wrap a plastic bag for 30minutes. The fatty acids in castor oil will maximize the ability of the skin to regenerate tissues and improve its strength and texture.
Thickens eyelashes and eyebrows
Apply this oil to your lashes and brows for a couple of weeks. The proteins, vitamins and fatty acids will nourishes, thicken and promote hair growth.
Relieve sore muscles
Castor oil will cure muscle pain since promotes the circulation of fluids in the body.
Due to its anti-inflammatory effects it can treat corns and dry, cracked heels. All you have to do is:
Put your feet in warm water for 10 minutes.
Scrub the area to remove thick and dry skin.
Rinse of your feet and wipe them out.
Then soak a cotton ball in some castor oil and apply it over the callus or corn.
Secure the cotton ball with a small piece of tape and leave it to react for a few hours.
Do this every day until the callus or corn disappears.

Use 1tbsp castor oil, glycerin and lemon juice on your lips and remove this in the morning. Or you can mix castor and almond oil.
