We don’t seem to pay as much attention to verbal abuse. It’s not hard to see why. Consider, for example, the fact that our culture largely favors those with thick skin.
People sent crying , cowering, or standing defenseless at ‘mere words’ are often seen as weak.
Some people recognize the severity of verbal abuse. 19-year-old Martina is one of them. When TV show What Would You Do staged a verbally abusive couple in a crowded store, Martina was the only one who stepped up to defend the speechless woman.
